The X-Men franchise has recently revealed that its yet another reboot that will focus on Jean Grey.
Dubbed as X-Men: Dark Phoenix, the film appears to be bringing “the human drama back to the forefront of the series, after Apocalypse’s large-scale threat. As far as we’re concerned, more focus on character over explosions can only be a good thing,” a report read.
TechCrunch said the focus on Jean Grey last picked up in the X-Men: The Last Stand, which is considered as a “franchise low-point.”
Hence, the trailer that recently came out carries the burden of “getting the public excited” about X-Men all over again.
Tech Crunch reported that among the big names that will be returning to the franchise are James McAvoy as Professor Xavier, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, plus “Game of Thrones” star Sophie Turner, who’s returning as Jean Grey
“With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. With the family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save the planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy,” Variety said.
Reports noted that this may perhaps be the “final film in this version of the franchise.”
The film will be out on cinemas in February 2019.
